A mooring (from series To Port), 2017, scavenged bouys and rope, installation view (detail), dimensions variable.

The bouys are ubiquitous in the sea and land lochs and mark fish and shellfish traps, oyster lines and water measurement instruments, as well as navigational markers. Here the item has been removed from its natural home, its rope exposed, functioning by hanging, rather than buoyancy. An inversion of physical property.
